Both Tyler and Travis attended Bethlehem Preschool for 3 years each so we were there for 6 years straight. Then after they moved on to ECC, Lynne couldn’t get enough so she started teaching at Bethlehem and has been there ever since. The school, staff and kids have all become an extended part of our family. Recently, Cheyanne and Gail told us that the School is organizing a Bake Sale called “Treats for Travis.” Here is the announcement from the school newsletter:
We are holding a bake sale for Travis Selinka next Thursday and Friday, April 18th and 19th at drop off and pick-up. Bethlehem Preschool teacher Lynne Selinka’s son, Travis Selinka (10), was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. Travis and his brother Tyler attended Bethlehem Preschool. They have both been and continue to be our “super volunteers” in the classrooms. As Lynne said, “We never thought we would be here in our wildest dreams. It has been an emotional rollercoaster going from talking about the possibility of migraines on Wednesday morning to finding out about the tumor that afternoon and then having the surgery Thursday. The good thing is that we have one of the top neurosurgeons in the world and he says that we caught things early. Also, Travis is a little fighter so they are optimistic about a full recovery.” Travis is having additional treatment at MD Anderson Hospital in Texas through the end of May. We would like to support Travis and his family by holding a bake sale. Any monies raised would go to the Selinka family to support them during their extended stay in Texas. Thank you all for your support!
We don’t know how many times we can say, WOW! Just when we thought we couldn’t be lifted any higher, great people come and raise us up even more. We love you all and we are so blessed to have you in our lives. Amazing! Thanks so much for thinking of Travis and our family.
Love,
Tony, Lynne, Tyler and Travis
